Dr. Matthew Campbell
Dr. Matthew Campbell was born and raised in the small town of Trion, Georgia. He attended Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, before earning his medical degree and completing his residency at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He began his career in Tullahoma, Tennessee, where he spent eight years practicing traditional pediatrics, including NICU, emergency care, and outpatient medicine.
Dr. Campbell believes in a collaborative approach to pediatric care, guided by his faith and the principle of treating others as he would want to be treated. As he describes it, “I strive to be a trusted advisor and friend to my patients and their parents. Encouragement and education are central to my communication style—along with a healthy dose of dad jokes and movie quotes.”
His passion for pediatrics was sparked when he shadowed a family practice in his hometown, where he fell in love with patient interactions. He sees his work as a calling, helping children and parents navigate not just their physical health, but also their emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Some of his favorite moments in pediatrics are watching newborns grow into thriving young adults and even caring for the next generation of his former patients.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Campbell enjoys spending time with his wife, children, extended family, and church community. He loves hiking, rafting, coaching and playing basketball and baseball, and traveling. He also continues a special tradition—playing the kazoo for his patients, a habit inspired by a mentor who once used it to bring joy to a young girl battling cancer.

We had our first visit with PDA yesterday, and I was blown away.
Very Kind and helpful front office staff! We were coming from a pediatric office that was quite the opposite, so it was very refreshing!
Dr. Campbell and Paris went above and beyond my expectations of what we were looking for in a pediatrician and staff. So friendly, personable, great with children but also super easy to communicate with as a parent. The whole visit my kiddos were laughing and smiling, my son even said ''that is the best doctor I’ve ever had!'' As a mother what more could you ask for? Looking forward to my children growing up with this practice.
Everyone here is always so friendly and welcoming. Dr.Campbell and his nurse are very informative and always ensure my questions are answered.
I am a first time Mom and was most impressed by having a consultation with Dr.Campbell prior to my baby’s arrival. This better prepared me for what was to come when my baby arrived and ensured I felt confident with Dr. Campbell to care for my baby. Right away I knew I couldn’t make a better choice.
I’m also very pleased that I may reach out to the office 24/7 with any concerns I may have and may utilize their services instead of an emergency room visit.
With pediatric diagnostic associates you can bet that your family will be well taken care of.
Dr. Campbell and his team are phenomenal with my kids! They are all so kind and intentional and our whole family feels well supported and cared for here! I would recommend them to everyone! My 3 year old even called them her favorites!
They got me in same day for my poor little girl. Apt at 10:20, tests ran, diagnosed, spoke with Dr. Campbell (who is awesome, btw. Highly recommend him), paid, and was out in maybe 45 mins.
Update: over a year later and we still love this place! Dr. Campbell and Paris were fantastic this time arpund. They really do take their time and it isn't a revolving door with them.
Dr. Campbell is absolutely amazing, if you are looking for a kind and compassionate pediatric doctor, run don’t walk to his office. He is the best around and my little adores him! Also great with treating complex patients like my little one! Call and make you appointment today!
We have been a part of the PDA family now for 2.5 years. I say family because they truly treat you like their own family members. We have used many of their doctors over the years but Dr. Campbell and his Nurse Paris are top notch! Nurse Paris always greets us with a big smile and also pulls the biggest smiles out of my 2 boys (2.5 and 7 months). She also handles administering vaccines with a wiggly infant like a champ! Dr. Campbell is so down to earth, open minded and makes you feel like you are not in a doctors office. He truly cares about his patients and really connects with them as much he can. He actively listens to every single question (big, small and silly) and answers them respectfully and honestly. I have never once felt like I was getting cookie cutter answers from him. Plus his jokes or movie references are spot on! Thank you Dr. Campbell, Paris and PDA!
